Marietta became an Associate Nutritionist following the completion of a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. After a period as a student intern at MRC Human Nutrition Research (HNR) in 2011-2012, she developed an interest focusing mainly on nutrition and cardiovascular disease prevention. In 2014 she completed her Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Science from King’s College London whilst maintaining her work base in Cambridge, where she focused her research on hydration status and vascular function in healthy human volunteers.

From 2013, she has been the Nutrition and Vascular Studies (NVS) coordinator for NNEdPro. Over 2014-2015 she has been coordinator for NNEdPro with defined responsibilities for NVS as well as the Nutrition Education Review Group (NERG), at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
She is currently undertaking a PhD at the Rowett Institute, the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, University of Aberdeen.
