Professor Daniele Del Rio is a Full Professor of Human Nutrition at the University of Parma, situated in Italy, where he holds the esteemed position of Vice-Rector for Research and Technology Transfer.

Additionally, he serves as the coordinator and administrator of the ONFOODS Foundation, a prominent research and innovation network specialising in food and nutrition sustainability, safety, and security. This Foundation represents the national Extended Partnership dedicated to food research, with a substantial value of €115 million. Comprising 26 partners, including universities, research centres, and private companies in the food sector, the Foundation commenced its operations in November 2022.

Prof del Rio holds the position of Visiting Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Ulster University. His contributions to the field have garnered recognition, as evidenced by his inclusion among the Clarivate/Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers since 2014. Furthermore, he takes pride in being appointed as a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic for his significant scientific accomplishments.
