The NNEdPro Global Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health has partnered with Dundee & Angus College, with support from EIT Food, to provide hands-on experiences and increase practical culinary skills and nutrition knowledge for two cohorts of marginalised communities in the Dundee & Angus region. The partnership has developed practical workshops that not only enhance participants' understanding of the role of nutrition in health and wellbeing but also provide them with industry experience.
Following a successful workshop trial in November 2023, Dundee & Angus College and NNEdPro Global Institute have collaborated to co-create academic programmes, courses, and training modules. These programmes, leveraging the expertise of both institutions, offer students a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to nutrition education, preparing them for success in the rapidly evolving industry.
The NNEdPro Mobile Teaching Kitchen International (MTKi) Initiative is an educational tool that teaches culinary and microenterprise skills to vulnerable community members, aiming to enhance nutrition education and address food insecurity and malnutrition. The initiative seeks to improve diet and health outcomes in marginalised communities with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. It is supported by EIT Food, co-funded by the European Union.
